Kamran Kamal (Chief Executive Officer)

Mr. Kamran Kamal is an energy technology and policy specialist with experience in several different areas, including business strategy, wholesale electricity market reforms, electricity derivatives, energy technology evaluation and largescale infrastructure project structuring. He holds a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech. He joined HUBCO as Chief Executive Officer Laraib Energy Limited, Pakistan’s first Hydel Independent Power Plant (IPP). Prior to becoming CEO of Laraib Energy Limited, Mr. Kamal held the position of Vice President, China Power Hub Generation Company where he was responsible for development of Barge Jetty and fuel supply chain for 1320 MW Coal fired Power Plant.

Previously, he was Commodities Trade Head, Engro EXIMP FZE where he managed Fertiliser, Coal, Oilseeds and Sugar Trading Portfolios and his work there allowed the organization to grow into new geographical locations and expand their commodities portfolio. During his tenure at Engro, Mr. Kamal was also involved in major energy & infrastructure projects including Thar Coal Mining & Power Plant, LNG Floating terminal and RLNG based power plant. Throughout the years, Mr. Kamal has been responsible for large capital projects, building organizational capabilities and for overall business delivery in both management, executive and Board roles.

Muhammad Saqib (Chief Financial Officer)

Muhammad Saqib is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Hub Power Company Limited. Saqib has over 21 years of experience, where he has performed in many key leadership roles in Finance and Strategy. Prior to HUBCO, he was CFO for Engro Vopak Terminal Limited and Engro Elengy Terminal Limited. In one of his previous role, as CFO for Engro Energy Limited and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, he developed various energy projects overseeing feasibility studies and worked closely with diverse stakeholders for finalization of complex Joint venture and shareholding agreements with Chinese investors, Government of Sindh, large local groups related to Thar coal mining and power projects. He headed finance function for Thar coal mining and power project and arranged USD 1.5 bn foreign and local currency under CPEC umbrella.

Saqib is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an Master’s degree in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

Amjad Raja (CEO Thar Energy Limited & ThalNova Power Thar (Pvt.) Limited)

Amjad is a seasoned engineer with over 22 years of experience in the energy sector. He joined HUBCO in October 2013 as Plant Manager, NEL, and served as VP Operations at HUBCO.

Amjad has played a pivotal role in the O&M of all five power plants of HUBCO. His extensive knowledge and strategic insights have significantly advanced HUBCO's coal-based energy initiatives.

Before joining HUBCO, Amjad held key positions at Wartsila Pakistan and Shell Shipment Management UK.

Fayyaz Ahmad Bhatti (CFO Thar Energy Limited & ThalNova)

Mr. Fayyaz Ahmad Bhatti has a diverse experience of over 20 years in the power, oil, manufacturing, and business assurance & audit sectors of Pakistan and has a proven record of successfully leading the organizations in achieving their corporate objectives.

Before joining Hubco as VP Strategic & Regulatory Affairs, Mr. Bhatti served as Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary for about 10 years in Laraib Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Hubco, which is the first hydel IPP of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir and played a vital role in the successful completion & commercial operations of the Project, it’s transition from construction to operations phase and payment of consistent dividends to the shareholders since the Project achieved commercial operations.

Mr. Bhatti also served Attock Refinery Limited, a petroleum refining company, in different executive management positions and was instrumental in preparation of financial feasibilities & approval of refinery growth projects worth PKR 22 billion.

Faiza Kapadia Raffay (Company Secretary & Head of Legal)

Faiza Kapadia Raffay is Company Secretary and Head of Legal at HUBCO. Prior to joining HUBCO, Faiza was associated with Philip Morris(Pakistan) Limited as Legal Counsel where she provided in-house corporate advisory and legal support to all business functions. Additionally she was also Company Secretary of Philip Morris for a brief period and ensured compliance of all governance requirements as per SECP and PSX listing regulations. Faiza has worked in the capacity of Company Secretary in Sui Southern Gas Company Limited. During her legal professional career she has been associated with Engro Chemicals, Citibank, Pak Brunei Investment Company Limited and United Bank Limited in the past.

Faiza has over 25 years of experience in corporate and legal affairs. She graduated with a distinction in L.L.B from S.M. Law College.

Aiman Hussaini (General Manager – Human Resources)

Aiman is a well-rounded and seasoned HR professional with a dynamic career spanning over 17 years in various HR roles across diverse industries at leading organizations. Before joining HUBCO as General Manager Human Resources, Aiman served as the Head of Human Resources at Prime Global Energies Limited where he played a critical role in streamlining and stabilizing the organization post EBO/HUBCO transition. He embarked on his professional journey at Engro, where he held important HR positions in Engro Powergen Ltd, Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) and Engro Corporation Limited and progressed to become the Head of Rewards & Talent Acquisition at Engro Corp. During his tenure at Engro, his major achievements were his contributions towards company’s Rewards Philosophy along with establishing the HR functions and Systems for the newly formed companies - Engro Energy Limited and SECMC. He also played an instrumental role in the standardization of Policies, Practices and Processes across the group companies. Post Engro, he joined ThalNova as Head of HR & Administration where he played a pivotal role in setting up the HR & Admin Functions and in due diligence during acquisition of ThalNova by HUBCO. Thereafter, he became part of the HUBCO group and was assigned to key HR roles at the group level including Head of HR - Subsidiaries leading the HR Function for field-based employees of HUBCO and later as the Head of HR Centre of Expertise (COE) whereby he was responsible for Corporate Rewards & Talent Acquisition functions along with HR matters related to Thar Projects and seamless transition into O&M phase. By qualification, he has an MBA from San Diego State University.
